We are a setting who provide opportunities for children to explore and excel! We have been award 'OUTSTANDING' in the aspect of personal development from our recent Ofsted inspection.
We are a warm, friendly, committee run preschool with close links to Bumps, Babes & Tots and Old Newton Primary School.
We operate in Old Newton Village Hall and have access to an outdoor area so Children can learn both in the indoors and outdoors learning environment. We are in the very fortunate position to be in a rural location surrounded by fields, woods and a play park. Staff ensure children have opportunities to access these facilities regularly allowing children to learn across the 7 areas of learning within a variety of environments.
We use and implement the 'In the moment' planning system. This is where we use our knowledge of each individual child and build and extend their development while doing something the child is interested in. We are very much child led with a great routine, structure and boundaries.
We encourage the children to be as independent as possible, we are preparing them not only for school but for many other future experiences and the life skills they need to learn and thrive.

We use the online learning journey system 'Tapestry' to record the children's learning and development. Parents get a secure login to their own children's page where not only can they see what the children have been doing, they can add their own observations/comments and photos from home.
During the Spring and Summer Term's the Rising Fives Children visit Old Newton Primary School every week for a 2 hour session. Parents/Carers drop off and pick up their children from Old Newton Primary School and a member of preschool staff will meet the children at the School and stay with them throughout the session. This allows your child to become familiar with the school environment, staff and layout of the school prior to your child starting school and helps for a smoother transition for your child.
